I did the back of the prompt Journal page about Kadi our youngest daughter,she used to walk outside and hold her finger up,for the Butterflies to land on!To our surprise she would walk in the house and show us all a Butterfly perched there ,then walk back outside where it would fly away!The Butterflies loved her! The Journal Prompt page was to add 3 words that described us,ok so tenacious was just too,long to write in this circle!lol!Hope you like my new style!This one was all hand drawn with no images.The Butterfly page I combined found images and my own drawing!Thanks for looking!

Wow summer is almost gone!I haven't got as much done as I wanted to.Sometimes a little time off is a good thing,maybe my creativity will return

What did they do to our blog? I find it difficult to use it ,I hate changes!Anyway this is some line art I did when I couldn't sleep,it was just a fun Original drawing.Now i have to decide how to add color?I May try watercolor,acrylics or copic,maybe try a few different mediums.thanks for looking and comments are welcome!

Busy Spring!

I am sorry ,It has been awhile since I posted!.Yes i am still doing some Zetti pages,but want to finish my album,before I start posting,just have three sides left!

I saw this gray work on U-tube and wanted to try it!It is something easy to carry with you ,to work on when you have those Doc.Appt.ect!These were fun,you start with a few swirls and find a saying,poem or what you want to write,use a pencil,then go over it with a light shade of warm gray,using a darker warm gray to shade and some black!It looks really cool afterwards!try it!

Spring has been really busy as we had to sheet rock,mud and tape an old upstairs room,now all we need to do is sand and paint it!Saving that for a rainy day. We still need to finish putting in the Garden as we have had too,many rainy days here!days!lol!We also Welcome A New Great Granddaughter,Miley Jane,she is in Texas,so we haven't had any contact yet!We are hoping her Mother will come back here so our grandson can see his daughter!Everything is in limbo right now,and we don't know if she will take off again!

Well as you can see I put a new Background and header on my Blog,It had been awhile so i had to figure out how to do it all over again,Lol!

Something has changed here and I am trying to work around it!We were supposed to do A Prompt Journal page or spread this Month on What we Believe.I decided to use it for a drawn version of Me when I was 17 also.Sometimes i like to try something different and this was it!I am thinking about adding my family and writing something kind about each one,some of their strength's.This is for my self and not for the prompt.The Zetti page is the one I will submit for the Prompt Journal page,Zetti is always fun and relaxing to do!Just get a page or cardboard,put fun ,bright papers around it and start putting different body parts or images together,or make your own!It is not hard at all!Oh and add doodles if you wish!

Great Grandma!

Yes I am A Great Grandma for the first time at the ripe old age of 56!Our newest addition to this big family is Kayden Mykal Appleby!He is our Miracle Baby.His umbilical cord fell off during Birth,He may not have made another few days. It was A good thing he was born the day he was.Jan.22,2011.he weighed 6.6 so he was still a nice size!He is A very good Baby,I just wish he would drink a little more formula at one feeding,I am sure he will be doing that soon!Ok so not every Baby drinks 6oz at their first feeding like his Grandma(my daughter Tracey)did!The nurses all said she was a Piggy!
Well since he was born I have been working on A Winnie The Pooh baby panel Quilt!Trying to finish it up for his crib,then will work on a real hand made Quilt for Him.The panel took a lot of Quilting,but I am almost done!Well I need to get back to some Art soon anyway,I am having withdrawel Pains!lol!

We are doing a Journal pages every month from a promt,or theme.These are the front and back of my Journal and A Favorite color prompt for this month!I thought this was a great idea miss Roc came up with. If we get snowed in,I don't have to try to get this mailed as we are doing this in our own Journals!I Love the idea!I have been trying to take the time to make my own Journal anyway!Of course I can't forget the Baby Quilting I have to get done before Our Great Grand son gets here,and our Great Granddaughter later in May!

I made these little pockets and filled them with fun things and candy for our Artsy Gals get together.We had a lot of fun with vicki's older sister Jan joining us,I think I got more talking then Art done,but it was great to see everybody again,Deb hasn't been able to come the last couple of get togethers,and we sure do miss Jessica,who is going to college classes.We made these fun spoolies at Vic's house,of course I didn't get them finished,so I played more when I got home!These are easy and fun,something even kids can make!

Four More Pages of My Journal!

These are my next four pages.For those that asked it really isn't hard to do Zetti pages or a Journal. I start with An Acrylic or Watercolored page,Use golden's Acrylics and water down ,don't use some of the cheap paints They won't take sharpies !Make some colorful paper strips,you can use left overs,cut some from Magazines,paint some,Mix and match! Use some Black and white checks,stripes or others as they give great contrast,it is so important to add to your page!
Etsy has many artist selling collage sheets,some specializing in Zetti,or you can Photoshop and re-color old photos.You can cut faces ect. from Magazines,but make sure you alter them lots!I use my laser printer as there is no printing to show through the back like A magazine,I just scan and print out the pic.The fun of Zetti is putting large head on small bodies,or animal head with human Bodies or opposite.I usually lay out my pieces and decide how I like them before I glue them down!Lettering is the hardest thing for me because my hand writing sucks!lol!I challenge you all to try this if you never have!Post a link here if and when you do,I would love to see your pages!I have learned a lot from some really fantastic Zetti Artist on A private trade sight,and am still learning!Check out some of my favorite links!

These are the next four pages,there are 16 pages in all!These Zetti pages were just fun,The best thing is you can use up a lot of scrap papers,magazine pictures,collage images or just use your imagination and create your own images!Zetti is about putting together different images,lots of colors,and even textures!You can't go wrong creating A journal like this, just have fun and play!

My Soul's Journey began as a practise book for my eyes only,we were doing a 4x5 zetti Journal round robin and I really needed to practice my lettering and just losen up,try a little more doodles and having fun with the page.This is a 8x10 and gives me so much more room to work with.This is my front page and the 3 first pages. Just to Prove I really am Multi-talented and Artistic! LOL! The First Quilt Is for My Oldest Grandaughter Ariell, I have A Lot already Quilted on it,but really need to get it done,and here is one of the Quilt Tops I have Made for My Oldest Grandson Sam,Luke 's his Brother's is made the same way only his is trimed in Green with a red inner Border.Sometimes I think I just have too, Many Irons in The Fire and need to finish My Grandchildren's Quilts while I can still see!My Middle daughter Just Challenged me To find My Children's Story About Kadi And Cody Rabbit,and Re illustrate and re write it then submit it!Hmmm We will see!The original got A Little Ripped!

Matt Dillion And Festus!

Boy I am so far behind with my blogging!Sorry it is just harder to come upstairs when it's colder up here and I was so sick!I was just getting over something( I think it was the Whooping cough,my Niece had it)Then right after Thanksgiving I got Hit with The H1N1! Boy was I miserable,I was hoping for a gun for Christmas so somebody could just shoot me!Congestion,chills and fever,body aches,I seemed to have it all!I am doing better but still have coughing spells!I just want my lungs better again. Ok with my Asthma that won't happen during the cold winter!

We managed to get some Chicken Noodle soup and Chile soup made for Christmas eve and take it in town to our Oldest daughter's place,feed everyone,have our Gift exchange,then rush home through the blowing snow. There was little and no visability at times,Our youngest daughter kadi and her Boyfriend followed us home and was Snowed in with us on Christmas Day. We played on our new Wii and Wii fit and played on the computers until our Broadband went down. We had Our Turkey for Supper,as we all slept in.Two days later They managed to get out,pick up his kids and go back home. I have only been out New Years Eve as we had a Gig. I am trying to avoid the cold air that's just starts my coughing again!I am working on journal pages so will post them soon!

Here are 2 of my latest drawings,as you can tell I prefer faces although i am challenging my self with a more landscape type right now!The first one is A Native American these intrige me because of all the detail to try and capture. The second one my other favorite children's faces is my second Daughter Kori as A Baby,I am glad i learned to draw when hopefully I will still have some years to practice and get better!I have been lazy with this blog as I have to come upstairs to scan my art and my computer up here is slow and on it's last leg. I am working on A Journal swap and One of my own so maybe now I will have some more Art to post!

Well this is about the only Art I have done for awhile other then a few Jams. Tiffany saw my drawings and handed me a pic of her little girl!I drew this while Ron was in surgery!I finished it up at home later!the Pic of Kadi i did on the way to the VA for his checkup and while we were waiting!I also finished it at home!Sorry about the marks in the lower corner must be something on my scanner!

Us Artsy girls are getting together Thur. at Precious Treasure's cropping room! Amy the owner is really nice! This will be great as it was my turn to have it and I will take some cheese dip and tortilla chips to snack on!Hopefully I will get back some creativity!

Ron is doing real well so far considering surgery was about 3 hours longer then they planned,they had to graft some bone to his hip,which is cabled wrapped,he had to have a couple units of blood,also.He tested positive on his nasal swab for MRSA,although it is not active,and because the surgery took so long the consultation was over the phone,so I really didn't get to talk one on one with the doctors,I still haven't,as they come in the morning!It is a 50 mile trip down there and I don't drive in Omaha,so my youngest daughter and I went today,and my parents took me Thurs.Anyway I was freaking over the MRSA and was asking the nurse what they were doing to take care of it ,she didn't know much,but the doc's told Ron it wasn't active so they didn't need to give any harsh antibiotics at this time.Yes it was an ordeal so far ,but as soon as his plumbing starts to work he can come home!He was already joking when we first seen him,but looked so much better today!Thank you for those that kept us in your thoughts and prayers!I really appreciate it!

Last Christmas Mom and I started to work on A scrabble tile necklace for My Great niece Kayla,we finished it and Mom took it to her a while back,this shows the front and back Of Kayla's and the Necklace I made from a scrabble tile swap i did on an atc's site I belonged to. I still have three left and plan on doing a blue,green theme with them. These are fun because you can add trinkets of all kind to them as you go!

Well we are less the 2 days away from Ron's surgery,so if it takes me awhile to find time to blog don't be surprised!It all depends on how badly I need to get some time away from him and how crabby he gets!lol!He was feeling good today even though he can't take any painkillers or tylenol until aftewards now.Don't worry my whip is always close!lol!If you feel inclined to say A prayer for him I would be grateful! our 2 youngest Kadi and Cody are taking off from work for the surgery ,so now Mom and Dad won't have to spend all that time setting around with me!I will be glad of the company!Thanks for checking in on my blog!

The Aftermath!

Howdy From Dry Gulch Colorado,As you can see Mom And I might have to make that our new address for awhile! I was holding that Rock up fine until Ron insisted he and Dad could do it better! I refrained from taking pictures of that disaster,Ok so maybe Mom and i pushed the Rock a little from the other side!Dad fared better,but that didn't keep Mom from nailing that coffin shut anyway.Ron as you can see croaked from that falling rock.Mom and I couldn't get our stories straight so that old Sherrif put us in the slammer!They burried Dad and Ron in the new cemetary in Dry Gulch!

Seriously we all came out in one piece and had a good time,Mostly it was me getting out and taking pics,while everyone else stayed in the car in the shade!

Vacation

Sorry This is are only chance to get a mini vacation in . We have a family re-union the 5th and we might take a couple of days and go out to Colorado and see some sights!Ron can't do a lot of walking so we will mostly take the scenic route and drive!Mom and Dad are going along.Lets just hope we don't all kill each other before we get back!lol! Seriously I wanted a little fun before being house bound with Ron during his recovery!By the time one hip gets recovered it will be time for the other,so it will be a long slow fall and winter!

Well this is the last of my journal Pages!yeah!One gal dropped out,so I am done!Well i took a little time away from my Art,as we had so much going on! We had Bubby again Thursday night and karaokee,Friday night!It was cold out on the patio of the bar we played,it is right on a private Lake!Sat. night we had A wedding!Ron was so kind and let me bow out!Weddings run about 6-8 hours for us!He was Lucky though and got Home and in Bed before Midnight.He got to visit with A lot of his Classmates at the Wedding,so he enjoyed the night!This summer is all booked up for us,so I probably won't get to go back Home this year on the Fourth of July again. It is so hard for Ron to walk anyway and we usually walk up and down the Carnival to see some of our friends and my old classmates!I hope his hips hold out until August!

Well it's been awhile! Our broadband has not been working right for about 6 weeks,so hopefully it got fixed today!

This was the Art frames we did at our last art get together at Vicki C's house. Only Stephanie and I made it. It was A fun laid back day and we mostly talked!We lined the three frames up and took pictures,but I just didn't care for the silver frame so I repainted mine white with some green paint and brown ink to add some color after I got home,I also added the pink bow!Vicki had this pic of my Grandmother,Mother,Baby me and my other 2 sisters and brother in my goodies to use and the challenge was to use only from the stash she gave us. Ok so I cheated and used the verse from the goodies Stepanie shared and the bow from Vicki's Valentine goodies she sharedlast time here!Vicki was telling us the deal she got on these pretty pearl stickons,and when we tried to take them off the paper and put them on our art they fell apart!She laughed and said maybe it wasn't a good deal!Anyway we got them on as well as we could!Ok so none of the rooms in my house are pink!lol!Well anyway it was a supper fun day!Thanks Vic!

Well isn't it obvious!Yes William stole the cookie,it is written all over that guilty chocolate face!I was taking William in to wash the cookie off his face and told him to look at that messy face,He cracked me up and I just had to get the camera!He was having fun trying to kiss himself in the mirror!Grandpa was gone and we had to get rid of the evidence,since it was Grandpa's cookies!lol!What fun he is,his parents hate when we call him Bubby and don't want us to call him Billy so his new Nick name is Billybub! Every time I called him Billybub he gave me a high five!He does have that Bendig sense of Humor!lol!

These postcards I made for A Mona Lisa Swap and A -Use at least 3 mediums,U pick it swap !I seem to be having a lot of fun with these lately!Some new stamps and a nice laser Printer sure help! We had to go to Omaha to the VA for Hubby so I asked to go to Michaels,and picked up a few new fun things from the Tim Holtz Collection and some awesome rubons and such from kc and company!It always inspires me when i get some new playtings.LOL!

Another busy week

Stephanie made these booklets for us all out of tags and data sheets,aren't they cool?These are a couple that she worked on.Vic gave us all these cool purses full of glue,scissors ect. and Deb gave us all a bag of cool goodies and shared some of her albums to alter.I didn't finish mine yet!Then Steph made me A giant cupcake Birthday card.I would have shared this earlier but I miss-placed my camera and finally found it!

The begining of this week we had William Sunday night until Tueday night.We enjoy having him here,but are exhausted after he leaves. He has A new Day Care now, since his Old day care lady broke her leg.Ron also had a Doctor's appointment and I had Vic out for a couple of hours Thursday!I worked on Journal pages the rest of the time!After gigs on both Friday and saturday night we just rested today!Yes we are getting old!

This is what My wonderful Cousin and best friend Vicki C gave me for A birthday gift!It is so beautiful it makes me want to cry!She also came to our Karaoke Gig in the town where she lives,we had about 25 Family and friends come over and were there to help me Celebrate my Birthday!How old am I ?"Not too,old to still have fun" I say!We are having A get together at Debs march 3rd,that was a fast one,I guess it was what worked out for everybody,me I can go almost any day,I am free and easy!LOL!Steph has to support her Art habit and work.LOL,so we work around her work,Jessica's school and Miss Vicki's many assingments,teachings and all that she does!What A whirlwind she is,always on the go!Well I had A Happy Birthday and am having fun playing with my new Cricut Expression from my Hubby!Yes I am well Loved!

Yesterday was A Super fun get together with Vicki, Deb,Steph,Jessica and My youngest daughter Kadi!Jessica brought us all these beautiful Bloodstone Necklaces!They are so gorgeous!Thanks Jessica! All the other girls brought art goodies,but I will add them to my next post as my camera batteries went dead!Thanks to Deb and Vicki for sharing their photo's for me to use!I was busy trying to host so I am glad I did one ahead of time!I just enjoyed the visiting! Ron made Banana cake and baked a frozen roll of my Mother's date cookies. Vicki brought along some heart shaped brownies!YUM! Ron and I made everyone Mudslides,too!You blend vanilla ice cream like a milk shake and add a half shot of both Bailey's and Kaluaha!It should serve 2 people,so it's not strong you can't really taste the alcohol,so you can make it stronger if you perfer,but we kept it mild! Oh I made everyone some Valentine Atc's above and Step made some i will post when my camera is ready!

Wow!It has been A busy couple of weeks!We had William Tue-Wed.and the Thur.-Fri. before that!He takes A big chunk of our time!As he has constant attention!Unfortunately this blog is the first to get neglected!LOL!
I am having another get together for Vic,Steph,Jessica and Deb.How lucky I am to know all these sweet talented ladies!I went to dollar tree and found some fun goodies for valentines day and these blank plaques to alter!I also found some oval ones!I altered this one Quickly last night so I could show the gals what I had in mind to work on at our get together!We are pretty laid back and sometimes we do the same things and sometimes work on something else!I just like to have some options!Jessica is such A talented artist we never know what she will come up with!Usually something she drew,woodburned or painted.I think I will have to hire these talented ladies to decorate my house as their's are all so cute!Me I have had to live crowded with a houseful of lovable slobs,and Ron and me both Ratpackers,haven't had a lot of time to redo my house yet!Hopefully that will get worked on soon!

An art friend asked me to join A junk mail chunky swap,and I said I would give it A try!Some of this slick paper is not fun to work with,but otherwise it was kind of fun!I think it helped me find A little creativity that I haven't been feeling for A few days!Some of these great faces are from A good old Days magazine advertisment,the others I got from A Birthday Express mail catalog.I tried to use everything junk mail including the backgrounds.I also used A little newspaper and old used envelopes and stamps!I also used markers , sharpies and gel pens.Now if I could just find some fantastic glue that sticks,don't pull when it dries and isn't too messy I will be so happy!

There is nothing more magical about Christmas then seeing it through the eyes of A little one!William(Bubby) loves everything about Christmas!These bottom 4 were all taken The Thursday night before Christmas when we were baking cookies and making candy!As you can see we had a lot of help!The top 2 were taken on Christmas day.We wanted to rent him out as A bell ringer and even taught him how to say HoHoHo!He is A riot!When I gave him his gifts he ripped right into them like A pro.We got him A little toddlers T-ball set!We will have fun teaching him how to bat!He is ambidextrious like his Uncle Brandon but,prefers his left hand mostly!We had 21 for christmas dinner,so we were busy and crowded!I hope everyone had lots of food,family and friends!

My finished Christmas shadow box ."Don't Eat The Yellow Snow".Below you can see the haul I made,Everyone is so sweet and we all usually bring things to share,but other then some laser printed Christmas tags I was too,busy to put something together this time!Amongst this haul.Deb shared ribbons,chipboard tags and images,Step made a sweet calendar,an adorable glass sun catcher and some little clippies and charms. Miss Vic shared some crafty secret stickers and booklets with us all and added some (Christmas/Birthday gifts)Pearlescent chalks(love them already) and some Powder puff inks,super cool! Plus we each chose a couple of Glimmer Mist colors to use!Sunflower is my favorite and I chose Creme De Chocolat,too. Glimmer mist are fantastic everyone should own some!

We had a wonderful fun day at Vic's She had shadow boxes laid out for everyone and a gift.Here is some pics of us all working and making a mess!First Deb who is so busy working and Step who is trying not to smile!Then Jessica in the back ground working and Miss Vic trying to ignore the picture taker(ME)!It was A perfect time and one of the best Christmas presents to spend A day with these Fantastic 4!(Hey is that a comic book?)Merry Christmas All!

This is from a Christmas Collage page donated by Mar.We had a challenge to use the images for a post card swap!This is mine.I didn't think I would have enough time,but begged off working a private party for a 13 year old girl!I had to bake a cake and get out the rest of my Christmas cards,get a watercolor Birthday card finished and the take the tree downstairs,and get Jada's gift wrapped ,before the Birthday Party we are having for Jada,Sam and his Fiance Andrea tomorrow!I did get everything done and feel such a relief. Now I just need to get Tracey's curtains sewn Monday and Tue. and finish up a scrabble necklace with Mom,for a great Niece for Christmas!Is that no rest for the weary or wicked!LOL! My first journal page for Danny!Poor guy gets my trial art work!Well I must say I will be experimenting with this more as I have a lot more pages to do!These are backwards,the back side is the clown collage and the front is my Zetti zombie drawing!I was afraid the pencil would smear,so I did a laser printout and chalked color on it!I will downsize any more drawings so I have more room for journaling and adding paper edges!

Back And Feeling Better!

Well I finally got my Crow journal pages done and sent out!It is my first journal page swap!Trying to figure out what I wanted my Crows to be doing then draw them all was time consuming!Thank Goodness for the Nights at Karaoke when I have nothing else to do!I had these mostly done before I got so darn sick! I coughed so hard my lungs were bruised!Awful!
I must say I am Thankful for A wonderful husband who cooked Thanksgiving dinner for 26 people,when we only expected 16!LOL! our darling Kadi invited a friend and A co-worker,who came with A husband and 2 boys!Bless our children for knowing our family policy that nobody should go without good food and friends especially on A Holiday!We also didn't expect Kori and her family!They also had a spare!Brandon actually didn't have his 3 spare boys this time!Tracey had to Work ,but all the rest of the family was here!I am also Thankful that I started feeling a little better Wed. night and got some cleaning done and was able to help some on Thursday! We also celebrated Cody's Birthday as he dj-ed A wedding his Birthday night the 29th!We had William overnight while they worked!We so love that little ham!He makes us laugh so hard!

Mom's Birthday fun!

We took Mom and Dad out for a fun day and lunch last Wed. to celebrate My Mom's Birthday (Friday). We had to work Friday night and they were leaving to go to Hawaii along with Lisa and Deb, Sat. morning, so we celebrated a little early!I think it was fun for them to just get out and do something different for a change. However I was the only one that bought anything!I bought some fun things to share with some of my Art friends!I will post my best finds later ,but I found some old report cards from the 30's, red trade cents some old blotters and some other fun paper things!We are trading 6x9 bubble envelopes full of fun stuff every month,to the next person down the list!I think there is about 10 of us!It will be fun to see what others send!

I have been very busy drawing crows for a crow journal swap,and have a whole table full of ripe tomatos to can. We picked them green and wrapped them now they are all rippening or ripe. At least we should have enough canned to see us through until next summer!

Oh what a fun get together we had at Step and Jessica's house Friday!We altered Slide holders ,of course I didn't quite finish mine as I was busy visiting!It is always great to see the Art Of my College classmate Jessica!Our art Teacher always said she was way to talented to be in our class!She introduced me to her Mother Steph, who is also artistically talented and on two design teams,Inka stamps and one in Hawaii she said. Then of course there is the very talented Vicki Chrisman who is on so many design teams I lost count!LOL!Ok so I am a little predjudiced as she is my cousin and best friend!The we have Deb Whose house is decorated just like it's fresh from a Home design magazine,and she is ever so sweet!Then of course me ,I now have 2 college courses completed in Art,but am awed by these talented friends!.Vic of course shared her glimmer mist with us to decorate,which i love,and Steph all her supplies!

Here is some of the goodies we exchanged!

After Step's we ran my daughter to Omaha to buy this perfect material for her kitchen,She wants to decorate it with a chocolate theme! We also found some rich chocolate satin for curtains in her dining room!The some lucious deep brown wood flooring for her kitchen. She is buying the blue and brown paints today!Of course guess who's in charge of sewing the curtains!Seem like I always bite off more then I can chew!LOL!
These cups I got at goodwill and had to get them for her!Of course she will have to pry them away from me first,esp. the cupcake and cheescake ones!I also thought of you Roc,but they are just so heavy to send!

Chunky page Challenge!

We had a Chunky page challenge among some art friends. It is 4x4 and a hanging one. It is my first one ever and had to have a quote or saying about Art! It was actually very fun to make!I depicted Alice in wonderland getting high on shrooms!I got this gorgeous paper yesterday ,it is "Serendipity" I love the bright colors and mushrooms!The background I used paper from A designer pad Pulse Collections from Where Memories Are Created!The head is from Clue Paper by Ek Success!The milk chocolate chip boards are basic grey and altered with a white gelly roll pen!

Tomorrow is the big get together day at Steph's! I can't wait to see everybody again. We just have fun and create whatever strikes our fancy.No pressure to get something done.

My Real Art Passion

Pencil is one of my favorite mediums when it comes to Art!I guess it is easy to haul anywhere and When I am at some wedding or Karaoke and don't know anyone, I draw!I like faces and just fun art.With pencil you can make all the details come to life .It is a great conversation starter and sooner or later somebody has to see what I am drawing!I still need a lot of practice,but am enjoying it as it is one of the most relaxing thing when you throw youself into it!

Cold and Rainy

It has been either cold or Rainy ,or both ,here this week! I guess we kind of skipped Fall and Winter is right around the corner!

We missed our Bubby this week,with the roads so muddy and it being cold we decided to wait and hopefully we can get him overnight soon!My parents picked up A spring horse at An auction along with A folding step stool Mom wanted!It cost her A whole $2.oo for them both,so I guess he will have some good old Cowboy fun at Grandma's . I invited my Parents out yesterday and to stay for Supper!Ron made soup! It's a recipe we made up together. You make A rue and then we add cream, potatos,broccoli and ham!Boy is it rich and good!We also had ham sandwiches!I had to laugh when Mom went for seconds!Well anyway it was great to spend some time visiting with my parents as we have been so busy the last couple of years they have kind of been neglected!

I got a couple more Halloween postcards done!The haunted one I entered in The mail Art site contest,there are a lot of fantastic Artist so I won't win, but I entered for the fun of it!

We celebrated our Anniversary with 21 family members here, I didn't expect that many to show up!We had potato dill Soup( made with potatoes, hamburger,dill and water). we also had ham sandwiches,and for dessert Ron made Bannana cake,Apple Crunch,and homade Toffee ice cream,and Mom brought Brownies!We were all so full we were miserable!I am glad that is over with!

Today we have to can more tomatos that Kori (our 2nd daughter) doesn't have time to put up,and we are going to pick all our tomatos,wrap or set in the porch windows to ripen. We have had a little frost and I don't want to lose the rest!It will probably take us all day!LOL!Everything seems to take us all day anymore!I think they call it the Golden Years!Yeah right!

Well I am terrible at blogging everyday,so I have some catch up Art to show.We have been doing postcards on our Mailart site.These were just some fun Zetti types.

We canned more tomatos monday,and it was the second time this year that a hot jar full of tomatos exploded,this time before I even got the lid on. I was just scooting it over. It burned my stomach this time and I must confess it hurt!It was a good thing I had some Silver Nitrate ointment left from my son's acid burns.In all the years i,ve canned it never happened before and this year twice now!Canning season will be coming to an end here soon anyway!

I am trying to talk my husband Ron into taking me out Friday Night for our 38th Anniversary.We actually have the night off,

Or maybe a quiet little supper at home with just the 2 of us!We will have to see!

I am a little behind on my blog!Sorry! my daughter's friend is sick in the Hospital with pneumonia and was not doing well and hates doctors and needles,so we have been up to see him a few times!
Friday I had a few of the girls over to do some art. Jessica and I went to art 1 college classes together.She kept saying you should meet my MOM!Well we have gotten together a few times and we all feel so at ease with each other already!Deb S too, but she was going to her Mom's that day and friday worked for everybody else, but me usually.Luckily we didn't get any last minute calls for Karaoke that day or I might have had to cancel!I sent some lace with Vic to to give to Deb also.We are not a neat bunch as you can see!lol! we had things spread everywhere. That 's the way we Artists like it!Steph is so productive,she had 2 done before I even finished one! Jessica added her own little hand drawn touches!She drew red ink trees on an orange background,It turned out gorgeous!

The spool story was a little freaky,but The story about the accident my son viewed is even freakier!The family wanted him to come to the viewing as the kid Greg's Parents wanted to meet and thank Cody!It turned out that the kids grandmother grew up next door to where we live,his relation owned our house before us and another lived across the road.His great uncle was our neighbor when we moved here and we knew them all!There is no coinsidences!

Antique Calendar Finds

These are just a few of the old Calendar Pics and other picsI bought at an auction!They are gorgeous!Well Sunday was A busy day!We took my parents out for Supper for their 59th wedding anniversary! Unfortunately we had to drop them off and not stay and visit when we were done!Cody our youngest son was in an emotional state!He watched an accident happen in front of his family! A car started swerving as it was coming at them then he thought it turned in a drive way,but saw a tree shake. They had run in the ditch. He thought they were only going about 10 miles an hour when they hit!He jumped out and went down there. The girlfriend was unhurt but screaming!He calmed her down and got her out. He crawled in and the guy wasn't breathing. He got him to breathe but was not in a good position for cpr. He was pretty sure he had no neck or head injury as they hit slowly,so he laid him out on the ground as his wife called 911. A CNA and another guy asked if he needed help.He said he needed someone to do cpr. She took over but didn't do cpr just called 911 again.He felt him die in his arms,as the rescue squad arrived,but was hoping they got him revived in the ambulence.He went to the hospital but the family said he had an enlarged heart and didn't make it. He was only 18 years old!They family called Cody and thanked him for trying to help!They said he was moving here as he loved all the friendly people here and Cody just proved him right!

Prince Of Spools

This is my little Prince of Spools!There is a story behind these Spools on a string! My Grandma always had them in the toybox as My kids were growing up!After she passed away my Mom put them on a Garage sale and sold them. About a month ago my daughter wanted to hit a few garage sales,even though I haven't been to one in a couple of years I jumped at the opportunity! I found a whole box of spools for $. 50. I got them home and pulled my grandma's spools on a string out!I used to tease her about all the nice wooden spools and one new ugly white foam one she added,that's how I know these were hers!I am sure it was Grandmas way of saying she hasn't forgotten us!Bubby thought he was so cute with these on his head!Of course he was!!!

I added another photo of the Birds nest at a little higher angle. Well Thursday at Vic's we just had a layed back day and worked on our own thing!I worked on a Cupcake birthday card for her!Yes it getting close to her Birthday!!!I went shopping for her some Birthday Goodies,which I hope she doesn't already have,but the best things I know she will love is the old lace and things I shared from my stash!I admit I am A rat packer from way back!I collected dolls so I went to auctions and picked up old Material and laces!The tatted doiley under the cupcake is from some of that stash!here is the 3 cards I made up so far. The Thank you and Yellow toped one are not done inside yet and I will decide what wording to add as I need it!It was mostly an experiment to see how they would turn out! I would love to make them into A Quilt block design also!

Would you believe I actually got some art done today? I was working on altering this little cigarette box,and finally got it done. I think I better take a better angle so the little nest and eggs show better. Well I am looking forward to visiting with Vic tomorrow and have some garden veggies to share with her along with some apple Jelly ,sauce and canned apples!I hope she enjoys them. Shopping day!

Today was a run to Omaha to get some Groceries day.It was also a stop at Hobby Lobby day,Too! I didn't find what I was looking for,but that never seems to stop me from finding something!Sam's club and Target were the other stores we went to! Ron built me a shelf for my Room,but I didn't get a chance to take pictures yet!I am in the process of getting the shelves filled,I definetly need to downsize some junk in here clean,and rearrange soon!

Well since my get together got moved back to Oct.3rd,I am going to one of my favorite cousins house to play!Maybe I will actually get some art done!I am in such a creative slump right now.This is one of my favorite pic's of her,so sweet.Yeah she's grown up, but she hasn't changed much from that sweet inocent little girl she was!

Busy Autum

What a busy time!We have been canning more apples,tomatos,and I even canned 1 pint of rhubarb sauce.I had to plant some new rhubarb stalks this spring and only 1 grew,so it will be a few years before I get a good bunch to can.We had our Bubby for an overnighter Thursday night.His new thing is to give you the "LOOK".He squints his eyes and twists his mouth!He sure did enjoy Grandma's apple sauce!We had Karaoke last night and 2 Weddings tonight.Our Grandson Sam is doing his first Wedding.It is for My daughter(KORI's) husband's nephew!Me I begged off tonight!I hate setting there for 8 hours at a wedding!!! Since Art is taking a backseat right now I posted these Pictures I took of one of the oldest standing gas stations that I have ever seen.This is in St. Charles South Dakota,close to my home town.

He is Grandpa and Grandma's heart!We all adore him around here!No really we don't spoil him!!!! Since we canned this week anyway, Here we have Canned Bubby (William)!Of course his parents cringe everytime we call him Bubby,but they have excepted it by now!lol!

My Mom And Dad pictured above,came out today and we all canned Apples!We all took turns peeling,and slicing the apples,but the guys handled most of that when Mom and I started making the mixture of water,sugar,cornstarch,cinnamon,and nutmeg,after it is boiled and you add yellow food coloring and lemon juice, then pour into sliced apple-packed quart jars,then you give them a 20 min. hot water bath!When you use them they are all ready to put into the pie crust for apple pie!You don't have to add anything else!We canned 26 1/2 quartsWe also boiled the peelings and juiced the leftover apples we had sliced , We strained the peelings and added the juice and made 9 pints of Apple Jelly,and I used the leftover pulp from the juicer addded a little apple juice and water and made 2 1/2 pint of applesauce!YUM, the sauce and jelly taste so good!

We canned Tomatos the other day and have 15 quart so far!Is there anything prettier then fresh canned Tomatos,or fruit?We have more Tomatos to can sometime this week!

Well we are both exhausted and I bet Mom and dad are too,! Early to bed tonight I bet!LOL!

I love these little Morning Glories and how they climb, but they do try to take over everything . I guess I will have to save some and plant them somewhere else.

Tomorrow will be a busy day of canning apples and juice.We also picked more tomatos today and will have to can them Wednesday or Thursday!I don't suppose I will have much time to do anything else!

Well This is something I am working on For Catherine Matthews-Scanlon!She was so gracious and made us all One of her Famous Sewn Artwork pieces!The Inside is going to look like A Chalkboard and I bought some Antique Stamps at an Auction with Animals and Words! I used them to stamp the ion the Chalkboard!I will post the insides when I get done!
